Shihab Uddin Ahamad, Country Director, ActionAid Myanmar

A development professional with over 24 years of working experience in NGO sector, of which, 20+ years with ActionAid mainly in Asia.

Shihab is currently working as Country Director of ActionAid Myanmar based in Yangon, where he is leading a team of 150 staff and more than 3000 youth volunteers, managing program with more than 100 local and national CSOs. 

He is passionate about working towards building resilient and just society.  Shihab’s areas of interest includes, leadership development among Youth and women, disaster risk reduction, innovative and resilient livelihood development, and development civil society with specific focus on  building youth as future leaders.

Shihab is a regular speaker in different national and international forums and also often join as guest lecturer in different universities mostly in Australia, Myanmar and Bangladesh.

Shihab has Masters Degree in Social development from Mahidol University, Thailand and graduation with major in finance and business administration from University of Dhaka.
