Richard Welford, Chairman, CSR Asia
Richard Welford founded and developed CSR Asia, a consultancy and think-tank, currently with 7 offices in the Asia-Pacific region and known for its pioneering work around corporate social responsibility (CSR). He has over 25 years experience working with the business sector, United Nations, NGOs and other international agencies in the field of CSR with an emphasis on social justice, human rights, governance issues, community development and environmental management.
Richard is currently the adjunct Professor at the Asian Institute of Technology, Bangkok and the University of the South Pacific. He has 25 years of experience in academia, pioneering courses and programs covering a range of issues including shared value, inclusive business, private sector engagement, supply chain risks, human rights and community investment.
Richard is the author of 15 books and numerous refereed articles in the fields of environmental management and sustainable development. He is also the editor of 3 internationally recognized academic journals, developing and promoting research around business and sustainable development.
Richard is also a Board Director of a number of other organisations including ERP Environment, the Compliance Practitioners Association and AIDS Concern.
