ISO 26000 is the new guidance standard that defines the concept of social responsibility for all kinds of organisations. It helps companies and others address their social, environmental and governance strategies. It helps in the process of building social responsibility into long term strategic plans and achieving meaningful impacts. The standard lays out principles, issues and tools that can help an organisation address its responsibility to society and the environment and contribute to development that will meet the needs of present and future generations.

ISO 26000 can seem daunting, based on seven principles, 36 subject areas and 107 pages! Yet this event will demonstrate how the standard can be used for all types of organizations, of all sizes.

The inaugural CSR Asia Forum on ISO 26000 is a one-day event structured to provide delegates with practical tools, expert insights and workshops on how to implement a responsible management strategy using ISO 26000. It will examine case studies of best practice that are already emerging. The forum will bring together over 100 delegates for a day of thought-provoking panel discussions and workshops concerning the future of social responsibility.

Pierre Hupperts
Partner, The Terrace

Pierre Hupperts has 20 years of experience in sustainability and CSR issues. Pierre has been a consultant in this area since 1999, when he started his own consultancy. Pierre joined The Terrace in 2009 as a partner. Prior to his career as a consultant, Pierre was a member of the board of The Body Shop Benelux for 6 years, responsible for marketing, communications and CSR. Prior to that, he worked for the Dutch developmental organisation Oxfam Novib for 12 years

Richard Welford
Chairman, CSR Asia

Richard has twenty years of experience working in the fields of environmental management and social responsibility. He was one of the early pioneers in developing social audit and reporting methodologies with UK-based organisations such as The Body Shop, IBM and Eastern Electricity in the 1990s. From 2002 to 2010 Richard was a professor at the University of Hong Kong and headed up the Corporate Environmental Governance Programme. He has sat on the Swire Environmental Committee as an external adviser for the past four years and has undertaken consultancy work with a number of leading companies, including the MTR Corporation, Disney, CLP, Nike, Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts, HP, HSBC, Citigroup and Adidas.
