This conference tackled the links between good corporate governance and corporate social responsibility (CSR). It emphasised the need to have good governance policies and procedures in place as part of CSR. We focused on the role of governance tools in mitigating risks associated with issues such as bribery, corruption and fraud. It also argued that good governance is integral to managing risks associated with the environment, human rights and labour standards. Many of these risks are now the subject of litigation. The peculiarities of the Asian region and how this affects implementation of corporate governance was explored.
